Distribution: Distribution: Native of Uttar Pradesh, India; cultivated in gardens at Lahore.
Comment/Acknowledgements: It is a handsome tree with peculiar foliage and durable wood.

A medium sized tree, branches sometimes prickly. Leaves bipinnate. Pinnae 2 pairs, long stalked. Leaflets sessile, c.5-10 cm long, ovate, coriaceous. Inflorescence axillary branched spikes, shorter than the leaves, c.2.5-4.0 cm long. Calyx minute, teeth obscure. Corolla polypetalous, petals 5, c.3-4 mm long, lanceolate, greenish yellow. Stamens 10, free, just exserted, anthers tipped with a deciduous gland. Ovary stalked, style filiform, stigma terminal. Pod stipitate, c.22.5-30.0 cm long, c. 1 cm broad, stipe long, thin. Seed 15-20.
