Subshrub, stem climbing, branches distinctly striate. Leaf spur spinescent, spine ± hooked, 3-5 mm, sharp on the older branches. Cladodes in fascicles 1-5, linear, flat 1-3 cm x 1.5-2.5 mm. Inflorescence axillary, solitary or paired, many-flowered raceme or panicle 2-4 cm, flowers hermaphrodite. Bracts 2-5 mm, linear. Pedical c. 2 mm articulated at the middle. Tepals c. 2 mm, white. Stamens slightly shorter than perianth. Berry 8-10 mm in diameter, red, 1 or 2 seeded.
