Note:
Catalogued and sent to Gray in Parry's materials on Parry's labels. The GH label has a label with an annotation of this name and "n. sp.", the collector "C.C. Parry M.D.", the locality "S of St. George", the date of "1874", "No. = ALL [or maybe 'AU'?] ". Additional material labelled Parry & Lemmon 138, 1876, has been annotated as the type of this name (e.g., US-1339132) but is not part of the type gathering, and in fact is a syntype of Mentzelia involucrata S. Wats., and was chosen as the lectotype gathering of that name.
