Description
|
Low shrub, the stems and petioles densely covered with stiff retrorse setae 7-10 mm. long; petioles 2-5 cm. long, bearing the formicarium at the summit; leaf- blades ovate or ovate-oblong, 1-2 dm. long, about half as wide, short-acuminate, entire or serrulate, ciliate, rounded to subcordate at base, 5- to 7-nerved, long- hirsute above, densely setose near the base beneath; inflorescence long-peduncled, trichotomous, 3-8 cm. long; hypanthium 2-2.5 mm. long, 4-angled, minutely puberulent, usually sparsely setose near the summit; exterior teeth subulate, about 1.5 mm. long; petals 4, about 5 mm. long; anthers linear.
