A procumbent to erect annual, profusely branched at the base, (10-) 15-30 cm long. Basal leaves rosulate with a sheathing leaf base, pinnatisect, 5-11 cm long; upper leaves smaller; lobes 10-12 (-15) mm long, 1-3 mm broad; ultimate segments linear, oblong, acute 2-3.5 mm long. Inflorescence 2-4 (-5) flowered dichasial cyme. Flowers 8-12 mm across; pedicel slender, 1-4 (-5) mm long, increasing up to 12.5 mm in fruit with many conspicuous setae or somewhat scaly structures on it; bract deeply dissected, lobes linear, 3-6 mm long, forming a involucre. Sepals 2, ovate, glabrous acute, 2-3 mm long, 1 mm broad, somewhat shallowly incised. Petals in 2 whorls; outer petals broadly obovate, keeled at the tip, 9-10 mm long, c. 6 mm broad; inner petals lobed up to the middle, outer 2 lobes elliptic-oblong or oblong, obtuse, middle lobe spathulate, ± hooded and cuneate at the tip within curved margin. Stamens 6 mm long; anthers c.2 mm long. Stigmas 2, recurved. Ovary elongated, 7-12 mm long, brownish. Fruit linear, very slender, 15-30 (-33) mm long, 1-1.5 (1.75) mm broad, lomentoid, 5-10 seeded; seeds oblong, minute, testa subcoriacious.
