Annotation: Spelled "Peperomia glaberrima" in the protologue (p. 178), but this clearly was not de Candolle's intent, and the correction to "glabriramea" is effected in the same volume under "Addenda et corrigenda" (p. 223); also, only "glabriramea" appears in the index (p. 217). The name has sometimes been considered first published in Primit. Fl. Costaric. 2(3) (1899 accordiing to TL-2), where all the same considerations apply: the spelling "Peperomia glaberrima" is used in the protologue (p. 289), but corrected to "glabriramea" under "Emendationes additæ" (on an unnumbered page loosely inserted at the front of MO's copy), and only "glabriramea" appears in the index, published a bit later [Primit. Fl. Costaric. 2(7): 392; 1900]. Years afterward, de Candolle sought to clarify the situation by confusingly redesignating P. glabriramea as a "sp. nov." (Candollea 1: 370, 390. 1923), but his initial correction may be deemed sufficient.
