Annotation:
Poa amabilis "Walter" is now interpreted as a misapplication of
Poa amabilis L., not an illegitimate new taxon. See J. Bot. Res. Inst. Texas 12(2): 476 (2018). As such, nomenclaturally, the name does not "exist". However, as "
Poa amabilis Walter" was cited by both Muhlenberg in 1813 (Sep) and Pursh in 1813 (Dec), as a synonym of their names, we track it for the purpose of conveying the invalid status, and also as it is the source of the validating description for
Poa refracta Muhl. (1813).
Nomenclature Reason:
nom. inval., as syn. of ~Poa refracta~ Muhl.
