Annotation: Rank established in 1828, but that illegitimate; Rank not cited by author, see Art. 37.4 (Shenzhen Code) for assignment of varietal rank. Gaudin cited Poa glauca Smith, p. 1388 (1800) as the basis, but Smith credited Fl. Dansk. 964 (Vahl). The latter Gaudin cited under Poa glaucanthos Gaudin "Fl. dan. Tab. 964?" But due to expressed doubt, they are not the same.
