Perennial. Rhizome long-creeping and much branching, hairy with multicellular brown shining hairs. Leaves 20-35 (-50) cm., broadly triangular to ovate-triangular in outline, white hairy on the lower surface, glabrous or almost so in the upper surface, 3-pinnate; lobes entire, shortly acuminate to obtuse, margin reflexed. Sori arranged along both sides of the fertile leaf lobes and not at their apices, covered by the ciliate indusia. June-September.
