Perennial, with long creeping stolons, rooting at the nodes, glabrous or somewhat pubescent. Stems 15-40 (-60) cm high, branched in its upper part. Basal leaves with petioles of about the same length as blade or slightly longer, blade triangular-ovate, ternate, the middle segment distinctly stalked, segments, ovate, lobed, lobes dentate. Cauline leaves few, smaller, sessile, less divided. Petioles sulcatc, glabrous or hairy. Flowers 20-30 mm in diameter, yellow. Sepals glabrous, patent, half as long as petals. Petals obovate or obovate-oblong. Achenes arranged in a globose head, inserted on a hairy receptacle, up to 3 mm long, rounded ovate, compressed, with a distinct border. Style c. 1.5 mm, curved, flat, falcate.
