Note Onoseris onoseroides is a striking species with red flowering heads. Its wide distribution from Guatemala to Venezuela and Colombia has led to its being described as a different species from several parts of its range. However, the characters such as more or less pubescence on the leaves appear to be simply geographical or even individual variation when plants from the entire range are examined.
