Turkey, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

Comment/Acknowledgements:

Soest (op. cit. 1975) keeps this taxon in the section Erythrocarpa, Schischkin and Tzvelev (op. cit.) have placed it in the Sect. Rhodotricha while Kirschner & Štěpánek  place it in the Sect. Macrocornuta and the same is followed here.

According to Soest (op. cit. 1963) this species has been probably collected from Pakistan: Kurram Valley: Talana Tangi, 1.5.1894, Harsukh 14925 (DD). The name of the collector seems to be erroneously spelled as Haronkh by Soest (op. cit.). The correct name is Harsukh, R. R. Stewart (op. cit.) has also mentioned the same specimen which could not be examined by the author.

A small perennial herb with flexuous hairs at base. Leaves 5 - 10 x 1 – 2.5 cm, greyish-green, lobed, lobes runcinate, denticulate, terminal lobe larger. Scapes several, hairy. Involucre 8 – 15  mm long, greyish-green, with usually crisped hairs; outer phyllaries ovate to lanceolate-ovate, recurved, not marginate, with or without cornicles; inner ones linear, with short cornicle. Ligules lemon-yellow, peripheral ones with dark stripes outsides. Cypselas brownish, 4 – 5  mm long, spinulose above, rugose below with 0.8 – 1.4 mm long cone; beak 2.5 – 4.5  mm long; pappus 6 – 7  mm long, white.
