Erect herbs, up to 40 cm tall, stem simple or branched from the base, with thin greyish to white tomentum. Leaves spathulate, usually narrowed at base, 2-5 x 0.6-1.5 cm, broadly rounded, shortly mucronate at the apex, sparsely lanate on the upper surface, white to greyish tomentose on the lower surface. Capitula in short, interrupted spicate clusters, c. 2 mm across, peduncle very short, c. 0.5 mm long; phyllaries 2-3 seriate, outer ones light brown, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, with white woolly tomentum at the base; inner ones oblong, subacute to obtuse, 3-3.5 x c. 0.7 mm. Outer florets filiform. Corolla c. 1 mm long; disc florets bisexual, c. 2 mm long. Cypeselas c. 0.5 mm long; pappus setae almost equalling the corolla, white.
