Perennial, suffrutescent, non-tuberous, sparsely farinose-puberulent to glabrescent  herbs. Stem many, with flexible, thin,   arcuately-ascending branches, foliaceous all over.  Leaves linear, often longitudinally plicate, apically long attenuate-acuminate;  basal and lower  leaves  upto 15 x 0.2 – 0.3  cm, entire,  apex tapering and recurved;  upper leaves akin to lower but smaller, 4 – 6 x c. 2 mm, entire, apex acute and recurved. Capitula on thin, ± 10 cm or more long  peduncles. Involucre  cylindrical, (12-)16 – 18 mm at anthesis, elongating to  c.  18 – 20  mm at fruiting, densely hairy. Phyllaries  biseriate,  outer ones 8 in number, ovate, 3 x 1 mm, having a dark spot on acute apex; inner phyllaries  7 in number, linear, 12 x 2 mm. Florets yellow with ligules as long as involucres.Cypselas linear-oblong, 10 – 12  mm long, glabrous and smooth, ribbed, grey. Pappus bristles 22 – 24  mm, plumose at base and scabrid above, dirty white.
