This species is characterized by its tomentellous to strigillose pubescence, medium-sized to quit robust obovate leaves, stipules 9-15 mm long, subsessile to shortly pedicellate flowers, calyx limb 1-2 mm long, corollas 3-6 mm long, and capsules 10-23 x 3-4 mm. Alseis labatoides is widespread and rather variable. This name has been applied to a number of plants that may not be conspecific.
Alseis labatoides is similar in general to Alseis blackiana, and to Alseis lugonis and Alseis longifolia.
