Notes :

This species is characterized by its strigillose to deciduous pubescence, medium-sized obovate leaves, stipules 4-8 mm long, subsessile flowers, calyx lobes 0.8-1 mm long, corollas 2-2.5 mm long, and capsules 4-8 x 1.5-2 mm.  Alseis microcarpa is similar to Alseis smithii and Alseis reticulata, and vegetatively to Alseis blackiana

Distribution :

Humid to wet and low-level cloud forest at 300-900 m across northern Colombia (Antioquia, Zulia) and Venezuela (Monagas, Sucre), at least sometimes on sandstone substrates.
