Notes
:
This species is characterized by its hirtellous to villosulous pubescence, medium-sized to robust obovate leaves, stipules 5-9 mm long, subsessile to pedicellate flowers, calyx lobes 1-4 mm long, corollas 2-4 mm long, and capsules 10-15 x 2-3 mm. Alseis yucatanensis is similar to Alseis hondurensis and these overlap in range, and their separation may deserve further evaluation with field study as noted by Lorence et al. (2012: 13). Alseis yucatanensis is rather commonly collected.
