Distribution: Ecuador (Loja), Peru
Note: Steyermark (Fl. Venez. Rubiaceae, 1974) noted the type from Ecuador, but gave no more detail. Lectotype selected by Delprete, Fl. Neotrop. 77: 188, 1999: Lehmann 7718, K, isolectotype reported as B destroyed; lectotypification here attributed to another work but that was published subsequently to this.
