Annotation: This name was a citation of Ruiz & Pavón's name Cinchona lanceolata, and was not intended to be a new name authored by Bentham. This incorrect authorship was catalogued by the Field Museum type photo project. The specimen Bentham cited here as Cinchona lanceolata is however the type collection of Cinchona condaminea var. pitayensis Wedd., a different species.
