Notes:
This species is characterized by its little- to much-branched low shrubby habit; densely clustered, verticillate, sessile, short, linear leaves; flowers in short cymes borne at upper stem nodes; and short blue to white corollas. The leaves range from opposite to verticillate, and vary in width. The leaves are borne along the main stem, and the verticillate leaves of a node are characteristically grouped with additional leaves borne on undeveloped axillary sprouts and appear densely clustered. These leaves are leathery and 0.4-1 mm wide, with thickened revolute margins separated by the costa. Declieuxia asphalathoides is similar to Declieuxia diamantinae, with longer less densely set leaves. Declieuxia aspalathoides is also quite similar in general aspect to Psyllocarpus and Arcytophyllum.
