Notes: This species is characterized by its somewhat small narrow leaves, stipules with well developed aristas, short, generally axillary inflorescences with a solitary flower, well developed white corollas with acute lobes, and subglobose to oblate, medium-sized fruits. Faramea schultesii is similar in general to Faramea cobana, which has much smaller flowers and fruits. Faramea schultesii is also similar to Faramea oaxacensis, with leathery leaves and larger terminal flowers and fruits.
Distribution: Wet forest at 1200-1700 m in southern Mexico (Oaxaca).
