Notes:

This species is characterized by its densely hirsute pubescence, medium-sized thin-textured leaves that are sometimes cordate at the base, 5-merous flowers, white to pale green corollas with the tube 40--45 mm long, and capsules of rather average size and shape. It has been collected across a rather large range but not commonly in most locations, and in southern Colombia it has been collected in the floristically unusual region of Araracuara. Ferdinandusa hirsuta is similar to Ferdinandusa neblinensis, with smaller 4-merous flowers.

Distribution: Wet forest at 250--600 m in the central and western Amazaon basin, in Brazil (Amazonas), Colombia (Amazonas, Caquetá), and Peru (Amazonas).
