Notes: This species has a rather slender hirtellous habit, somewhat small elliptic petiolate leaves, subsessile subcapitate or shortly fasiculate few-flowered inflorescences, and rotate pink corollas 6-8 mm long. Hoffmannia tuerckheimii is similar to Hoffmannia valerioi of Costa Rica, with at least shortly cymose inflorescences. However Hoffmannia valerioi has quite short inflorescences when flowering starts, and these frequently develop into longer lax cymes as the fruits develop; the fruits of Hoffmannia tuerckheimii have not been seen, and the infructescences of this species could also be larger than the inflorescences.
Distribution: At 1400-2300 m in Guatemala, infrequently collected.
