This species has been collected on both lateritic and sandy, littoral substrates, and often along marshes and riversides. Oldenlandia goreensis plants are weak to sprawling herbs with tiny white flowers. This species may have been overlooked by collectors and thus be more common in Madagascar than specimen data suggest. The MO specimens are on loan so the identifications are not all updated or recorded, and the geographic distribution information here is provisional.
