Annotation: This has been treated as an illegitimate name, but the name on which it was based, Psychotria herbacea L., was an illegitimate later homonym. Psychotria herbacea L. has been confused with Psychotria herbacea Jacq., but those two names were based on different type elements and are nomenclaturally dsitinct. Thus, so Geophila reniformis can be regarded a legitimate replacement name for Psychotria herbacea L., and typified by the type of Psychotria herbacea L.
