Notas
:
This species is characterized by its medium-sized leaves with usually well developed crypt domatia, triangular interpetiolar stipules, lax pyramidal paniculiform inflorescences with the axes often winged, pedicellate quite small flowers, medium-sized fruits, and often reddish brown drying color. Its long-styled flowers are similar to those of other Psychotria species, with the stigmas well exserted and the anthers included, but its short-styled flowers appear to be unusual in having the stigmas and anthers held at about the same level; field observations are needed to confirm this. Psychotria remota is sometimes confused with Psychotria viridis, with well developed bilobed stipules.
