Notes:
This slender species is characterized by its rather small leaves and stipules, its several-flowered pyramidal inflorescences, and its slender yellow corollas that usually are quite markedly bent at the base. It is generally similar to Palicourea psittacorum, Palicourea myrtifolia, Palicourea ulloana, and Palicourea calothyrsus, which are also found in Ecuador, and to Palicourea pittieri of northern Venezuela.
