Note : Palicourea subg. Montanae sect. Psychotrioides ser. 8
Project Data     (Last Modified On 11/8/2014)
Notes: This species is characterized by its slender habit, short laminar stipules, short broadly pyramidal inflorescences, rather small, yellow to pale yellow corollas that are markedly swollen and bent at the base, and rather small ellipsoid fruits. This species is generally similar to Palicourea garcioides. Palicourea garciae has also been confused with a species from Venezuela that was inadvertently given the same name; that other species is now called Palicourea steyermarkii.
Distribution: Wet premontane and montane forest at 750-2000 m, Costa Rica though western Colombia to Peru.
