Annotation:
The name Ferdinandusa is an avowed substitute for Ferdinandea and was published wtih the same three species as Ferdinandea, and each species had the exact same diagnosis; thus the name F. elliptica is here considered an implied combination (Art 33.1). The names F. elliptica and F. ovalis were published simultaneously; F. elliptica was chosen by Schumann [Fl. bras. 6(6): 208, 1889] and F. ovalis was explicitly cited in synonymy there. !CMT 2009
