Authors: In Authors: Published In: Prodromus Systematis Naturalis Regni Vegetabilis 4: 504. 1830. (Prodr.) Name publication detailView in BotanicusView in Biodiversity Heritage Library
Annotation: Also publ. in A. Rich., Mem. Soc. Hist. Nat. Paris 5: 170, 1830; DC.'s work was based on that ms. and preceded it in publication by a few months. Taylor (2014) discussed name and considered identity unclear. Delprete & Kirbkride (2016) considered the identity clear based on the same specimen, and without discussion or analysis synonymized Palicourea subcuspidata with this name.
Type-Protologue
Locality: In Guianâ Gallicâ.
Collector and Number: Richard s.n.
Distribution: French Guiana
Institution(s): ht: P
Note: Delprete & Kirkbride (2016: 418) designated a nectotype for this name, "L.C.M. Richard s.n., P [P04017866], G-DC not traced". No type was cited in Candolle's work, which was based on Richard's ms., which cited the type as a collection of L.C. Richard as they detailed. Delprete & Kirkbride regard Candolle as the sole author of this name and believe that only protologue information can be used to identify a type, therefore they consider the type unknowable here. Other authors mostly (or all) regard Richard as the author of these names, "in DC.", and think that alll information can be used for typification: in this case the L.C. Richard specimen seems corsespond to the holotype of this name.
