Notes : This species is deciduous, with the flowers generally flushing with the young, pubescent, small leaves, then the leaves expanding as the fruits develop. The inflorescences are shortly pedunculate and congested, and the flowers and fruits medium-sized to somewhat small.
Distribution : Seasonal, deciduous scrub and forest, 75-600 m, Magdalena valley in Colombia and apparently disjunct in southern Venezuela (Bolívar).
