Notes:
This species is characterized by its medium-sized leaves, well developed flowers (even for
Rosenbergiodendron
), and well developed, generally cylindrical fruits. Steyermark (1972) found this species to be widely morphologically variable in flower size, with some plants very similar to
Rosenbergiodendron formosum
, but with more specimens available Gustafsson (1998) later clearly distinguished these.
Distribution:
Rather frequently collected in wet forest at 0-900 m in northern though central South America, in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Surinam, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia.
