Annotation: Treated by Mena (1990) as a superfluous name for Hedyotis caracasana Kunth [= Arcytophyllum caracasanum (Kunth) Standl.], but the protologue of Arcytophyllum blaerioides does not reference any other name; the type specimen of this species is apparently a duplicate of the type of H. caracasana, however these names were published independently without reference to each other or to specimens at other institutions, so the holotype of each name would be at a different institution.
