Stachytarpheta friedrichsthalii Hayek, Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 3:273. 1907; S. jamaicensis f. albiflora Standl.

Hierbas o arbustos bajos, menos de 1 m de alto, tallos glabros o con pocos tricomas concentrados en los nudos. Hojas narrowly oblanceoladas (rarely oblong), 2.5—5.5 cm de largo (incluyendo al pecíolo) y 0.7—1.5 cm de ancho, ápice redondeado or agudo and ultimately rounded, base atenuada, margen crenate, glabras o la haz con pocos tricomas on the lower half of midrib and petiole, pustulose-punctate. Inflorescencia 8--24 cm de largo y 3–5 mm de ancho, glabra, brácteas lanceoladas u ovadas, 4.5–7 mm de largo y 1.5–2 mm de ancho, ápice acuminado o aristado, margin entire or weakly erose; cáliz 4.5—7 mm de largo, glabrous, ápice 2 lobed with each lobe entire or weakly bifid, drying without distinctive ribs; corola morada o azul. Fruto ca. 3 mm de largo.

Común, a lo largo de las costa, typically on the beach, atlántica; near sea level; fl y fr durante todo el año; Araquistain 3296, Rueda 1635; Belize to Panama. This taxon was included in Stachytarpheta jamaicensis in the published Flora de Nicaragua.
