Type: Type: Described from a plant cultivated at Bury Hill in Mr. Barclays Stove, from seed collected by Prof Bojer near Tananarivon, Madagascar.
Distribution: Distribution: A native of Madagascar.
Comment/Acknowledgements: Sometimes cultivated in gardens of Sind as an ornamental.

A profusely branched shrub, 1-3 m tall. Stem hairy. Leaves ovate to oblong-ovate, 2.5-5 cm long, 1.2-1.8 cm broad, dark-green above, pale beneath, entire, acute-acuminate; petiole short, less than 1 cm long. Cymes terminal, corymbose. Flowers white, c. 1 cm across; bracts linear. Calyx, cupular, 5-toothed, persistent. Corolla salverform, tube curved, c. 1 cm long, 5-lobed, lobes patent. Drupe glo¬bose, 4-angled, yellowish, glabrous, enclosed by calyx.
