Plants minute to small, yellowish green, in compact tufts. Stems very short, erect, simple, sparsely radiculose at base; central strand absent. Leaves appressed, erect or contorted above when dry, erect-patent when moist, lanceolate, gradually narrowed to a slender, canaliculate acumen; margins plane, slightly incurved above, entire nearly throughout; costa flat, rather than broad, percurrent to shortly excurrent; upper cells narrowly elongate, thin-walled; basal cells rectangular, pellucid; alar cells not differentiated. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves similar to the upper stem leaves. Setae slender and elongate, straight, yellow; capsules erect to suberect, oblong-ovoid or cylindric; opercula short conic-rostrate or undifferentiated; annuli none; peristome teeth absent. Calyptrae cucullate, smooth, entire at base. Spores spherical, yellowish brown, coarsely papillose.
