Plants slender, dark green below, yellowish green above, in prostrate mats. Primary stems elongate, subpinnately branched; branches 5 mm long, tips curved when dry, with dense leaves; paraphyllia few, lanceolate. Stem leaves linear-lanceolate, gradually tapered from an ovate or triangular base to a lanceolate apex; margins slightly recurved; costa single, strong, yellowish, smooth, subpercurrent to percurrent; leaf cells long-rhomboidal or sublinear, smooth to projecting at upper ends; alar region consisting of few rectangular cells. Dioicous. Perichaetia on main stems. Setae smooth, brownish, up to 1 cm long; capsules erect, brownish, long-spherical to shortly cylindrical; annuli formed by thick-walled cells; peristome double; exostome teeth lanceolate, verrucose; endostome segments rudimentary; basal membrane low. Spores spherical to ellipsoidal, 14–18 µm in diameter.
