Notes:
Pteropsiella is characterized by the thalloid plants with a distinct midrib and unistratose wings (lamina), long slime papillae parallel to the margins, smooth to irregularly dentate or serrate margins, female inflorescences on short vemtral branch with bracts and bracteoles in 3 series (inner largest). Metzgeria, Pallavicinia and Symphyogyna are similar in having a winged lamina and midrib, but lack the long slime papillae parallel to the margin, and leafy female inflorescences.
