Una familia con tres géneros, mayormente en regiones tropicales y templadas del hemisferio sur, ubicada en el orden Jungermanniales. Sólo un género ha sido registrado en Bolivia y el Neotrópico.
A family of three genera, mostly in the tropics and the temperate regions of the Southern Hemisphere, placed in the order Jungermanniales. A single genus is recorded in Bolivia and the Neotropics.
