Zygodon liebmannii is distinguished the erect leaves (1-1.5 mm) when dry, entire leaf margins (rarely with few teeth at apex), quadrate papillous cells on the distal 1/3-2/3 of the dorsal costa, and by the well developed exostome of 16 united pairs of teeth.
