Plants small, ca. 4–5 mm high, yellowish green, in loose tufts. Stems erect, simple or only branched at base, with reddish brown rhizoids. Lower stem leaves small, sparse, upper leaves larger, ovate-lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, 1.5–2.5 mm × 1.0–1.2 mm, acuminate at apex, often ending in an arista; margins entire, crenulate above, marginal cells scarcely differentiated or only with 1 or 2 rows of narrower cells at margins; costa ending below leaf apex or sometimes slightly lower; upper and median leaf cells rounded rectangular or rounded hexagonal, 40–50 µm × 10–15 µm; basal cells narrowly rectangular to linear, 70–100 µm × ca. 20 µm. Autoicous. Setae elongate, yellowish, 11–18 mm long; capsules erect, narrowly pyriform, clearly constricted at mouth, ca. 2–3 mm × 0.8–1.0 mm, necks well developed, nearly as long as urns; opercula convex-conic, shortly apiculate; annuli lacking; peristome absent or very rudimentary. Spores not seen.
