Plants small, ca. 10 mm high, green or pale green, in dense tufts or irregularly compact. Stems branched. Lower leaves sparse, with rhizoids, ovate-lanceolate, strongly concave; margins plane, entire; upper leaves forming rosettes, somewhat dense, oblong-ovate, acuminate; costae percurrent, slightly reddish at base; median leaf cells lax, 23–40 µm × 16 µm, almost hexagonal. Dioicous. Setae to 25 mm long; capsules shortly pyriform, pale brownish.
