Plants small, but elongate-slender, soft, ca. 10(–20) mm high, green to pale green, in loose tufts or compact. Stems at times with rhizoidal gemmae. Lower leaves smaller, upper leaves elongate, secund, flexuous, linear; margins plane, serrulate in the apex; costae strong, broad, ca. 1/3 to 1/2 the leaf width, filling most of the upper subula; leaf cells linear, upper cells 30–35 µm × 6.5 µm; basal cells irregularly quadrate or rectangular. Synoicous. Setae slender, 1.5–2.5 mm; capsules pyriform to elongate-pyriform, horizontal to pendulous; neck well developed; peristome double; endostome segments and cilia developed. Spores 15–28 µm in diameter, minutely papillose.
