Note
:
Leptodontium viticulosoides
is an African species reported in Central America from a single locality
(Guatemala. Without precise locality, Sarg 9 (H), Zander 1972). I have
not seen specimen on which the report is based. Leptodontium viticulosoides
differs from L. ulocalyx in its autoicous sexual condition and in having
leaves that are weakly decurrent, with sharp, smooth marginal teeth, not or
weakly collenchymatous upper leaf cells, and basal cells that are lax,
rectangular and smooth a considerable distance above the leaf insertion.
