Plants small, ca. 10 mm high, green to yellowish green, in dense tufts. Stems reddish, erect, simple or branched, with rhizoids at base. Leaves crowded at apex, sparse below, flexuous when dry, spreading when moist, narrowly oblong-ovate, flat or concave, narrowed toward base, ca. 2.0–2.5 mm long; margins serrulate above the middle; costae percurrent; median leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal, 51–95 µm × 11–19 µm, linear-rhomboidal near the margins, but borders not differentiated; basal cells enlarged, rectangular. Gemmae absent. Sporophytes not seen.
