Racomitrium cucullatifolium is distinguished by the erect or slightly curved (but not falcate) leaves with obtuse apices. Many collections have entire, obtuse apices, but not uncommon are some few mixed collections with an obtuse and short hyaline apices (=Racomitrium dimorphum (Müll. Hal. ex E. Britton) Paris). Apparently considered a synonym of R. crispipilum. Altermative name: Bucklandiella cucullatifolia (Hampe) Ochyra & Bednarek-Ochyra.

Nombre alternativo: Bucklandiella cucullatifolia (Hampe) Ochyra & Bednarek-Ochyra.
