Plants medium-sized, yellowish green above, brown below, in loose tufts. Stems ca. 2.0–2.8 cm high, irregularly and sparsely branched, with dense rhizoids, sometimes up to the middle stems. Leaves twisted, flexuose or appressed when dry, erect-spreading when moist, narrowly lanceolate, 1.4–1.8 mm × 0.3–0.4 mm; margins plane, entire; costae subpercurrent; leaf cells irregularly rounded, ca. 13 µm in diameter, with 3–4 rounded papillae per cell, thick-walled; lower cells gradually becoming quadrate. Gemmae absent. Dioicous. Inner perichaetial leaves slightly smaller than vegetative leaves. Sporophytes not seen.
