Plants slender, yellowish green or dull green, dark brown when old, in small loose mats. Stems creeping, spreading, up to 5 cm long, irregularly branched; branches sparse and remote, pendulous, flagelliform; central strand absent. Stem leaves cordate, concave, tapering to a short acute apex, up to 1 mm long; leaf margins reflexed, remotely teethed; costa up to 3/4 the leaf length, opaque; median leaf cells rounded hexagonal, 7–15 µm in diameter, thick-walled, grossly multipapillose; branch leaves squarrose when moist, other features similar to those of stem leaves. Sporophytes not seen.
