Plants rather slender, yellowish green to brownish green, in loose mats. Stems creeping, up to 5 cm long, usually irregularly pinnately branched; branches 3–5 mm long; central strand present. Stem leaves imbricate when dry, erect-spreading when moist, ovate or widely ovate at base, abruptly narrowed to a lanceolate or lingulate apex; leaf margins densely papillose; costa slender, up to the leaf middle or above; median leaf cells rounded quadrate, ca. 10 µm wide, densely multipapillose; basal median cells elliptic, smooth; branch leaves similar to stem leaves, lingulate above. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves widely oblong-ovate at base, narrowly lanceolate at apex; costa extending up to leaf apex. Setae slender, yellowish brown, ca. 1.5 cm long; capsules ovoid, erect; opercula conical; annuli large; exostome lightly yellowish brown, divided above into 2 lanceolate teeth, densely papillose. Spores large, up to 10 µm in diameter, finely papillose.
