Plants small to medium-sized, pale yellowish green to yellowish green. Stems prostrate or ascending, 2–3 cm long, pinnately or irregularly pinnately branched; branches dense or remote, flattened or ascending, straight or curved, ca. 8 mm long; pseudoparaphyllia triangular to narrowly triangular, shortly acuminate. Stem leaves erect-spreading, slightly falcate, ovate- to narrowly triangular-lanceolate, 1.2–1.5 mm × 0.5–0.7 mm, slenderly acuminate, sometimes reflexed at apex, cordate at base, shortly decurrent; margins recurved above, rarely rugose, serrulate throughout; costae double, reaching 1/5–1/4 the leaf length; median leaf cells 40–60 µm × 3–4 µm, thick-walled, rarely porose; alar cells shortly rectangular, thick-walled; the decurrent alar cells not differentiated, rectangular; branch leaves somewhat flattened, erect-spreading, 1.1–1.3 mm × 0.3–0.4 mm, narrowly ovate-lanceolate. Dioicous. Inner perichaetial leaves erect, sometimes slightly recurved above, triangular- or ovate-lanceolate, slightly plicate, slenderly acuminate, reflexed at apex, serrulate above, costae double, separate at base, ca. 1/4 the leaf length, median cells thick-walled. Setae ca. 2.5 cm long, reddish brown, smooth; capsules horizontal, ovoid to ellipsoid, 1.0–1.4 mm × 0.4–0.7 mm, slightly curved. Spores 12–17 µm in diameter.
